Sometimes I like to bake.

Baking is a serious love of mine. My mother would always be in the kitchen with us children giving us little cooking lessons and having us help with anything. I think my favourite thing to make with my mother is either a proper English Sunday Roast, Stottie bread, or soup. I have always loved baking, from the smell of the cooking batter and the way it fills the house, to the left over cake mix in the bottom of the blender! (I would always insist on making a little extra so I could nibble on the extra batter!). When I first got into baking for myself, I wanted to add a personal touch, as with a lot of my crafty things, and always wanted to create for other people.

Sometimes I do try too hard to be funny...

These were literally the easiest cupcakes I've  ever made and they look so adorable!

Just plain cupcakes, (I think I swirled in some blue to the batter so there was a marble effect when bit into), with some icing on the top (I think I even cheated on the icing and bought pre-tubed), a few decorative chocolate hearts and a bottle of edible shimmer spray!

Easy peasy and mega cute!

The first birthday cake (right) and hungry caterpillar & rose cupcakes (below) were made in 2017 for my very beautiful niece, Graces, 1st birthday. My sister and my niece endured a very traumatic birth when my Grace came into this world and at the start, for both of them, it was very hit and miss.

To be able to share my creation with two of the strongest girls on her first birthday was so wonderful and to have made this cake of her favourite Big Nut Brown Hare & Hungry Caterpillar, I was just honoured. I was so proud of how well it turned out and how much everyone enjoyed it (especially seeing as my creations were vegan!).

Other than the carrots on the top and the very few flat pink flowers, these cupcakes and main cake were made totally from scratch.

My mother had asked my sister what she wanted and so we were tasked with making three bunnies, what seemed like millions of fondant roses and dozens of caterpillars!

I can honestly say that this was the most fun cake I have ever made and will definitely be putting in this effort in the future if this is how it turns out!

Now it's not always baking cakes in our kitchen! Being a veggie, I'm always looking for recipes and foods to share with my partner who eats meat.

This is deep fried Jackfruit with mixed spices.

Being someone who used to eat meat, when I tried this, the only thing I could explain it as is KFC boneless wings.

They were absolutely outstanding, super quick to make, and even the male enjoyed it!

These gorgeous little rose apple pastry bites were surprisingly easy to make and absolutely delicious!

I might do a little tutorial in the future.

But overall?

10/10 for these beautiful bites.

(Of course I added a dash of extra brown sugar and cinnamon!)

If you wanted to make these really naughty, why not part soak the apple slices in brandy!
