Frozen

As ice begins to rise above,

Like blood within my veins,

I’m not as cold as people say,

Not evil like the claims.

I’ve made mistakes, some big, some small,

But then again who hasn’t?

Is this what I was meant to be,

Please tell me that it isn’t.

I never meant to push away

The people that I love,

But now my town is trapped in snow,

The whiteness of a dove

How to change my ice-cold curse,

To banish my affliction,

I loathe it, but can’t live without

My anguished contradiction.

A heart that turns to freezing ice,

My fault, I must admit,

I try to run, to hide from truth,

From lands I do not fit.

Until the day I learn control,

That only love can thaw,

The ice begins to melt away,

And fear my gift no more.
